Sensor/Actuator wireless and low consumption module for WSN applications.
It embeds a 16-bit RISC architecture (TI MSP430 5-series) and an IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver (CC2520) DSSS compliant. The baseband modem provides a 250Kbps data rate in the 2.4GHz ISM band.
WiSMote runs Contiki, a small footprint, highly portable, multitasking Operating System that supports IPv6 (6LowPAN) protocol. WiSMote is officially referenced by the Contiki’s community (http://www.sics.se/contiki/wiki).
WiSMote delivers very low power consumption, completely powered by two AA batteries or USB. It is provided with a Unique Serial ID and an external serial Flash memory dedicated to data logging.
Three main sensors are available on the board : temperature, luminosity and 3-axis accelerometer (option). A 40 pins expansion connector allows users to interface with additional devices (digital/analog sensors, GPIOs, Phidgets, serial interfaces) or plugins (humidity, RS485 Interface).
The Humidity plugin provides humidity & temperature sensor measurements whereas the
RS485 Interface plugin allows to connect to another WiSMote (or specific device) through the
